  • Final 30-day marketing report (PDF)

    • Analytics (e.g., GA4)
    • Lead tracking software
    • Advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta)
    • Other integrated tools (as applicable)

📂 Client Responsibilities

  • Provide new hosting, licenses, and vendor accounts
  • Ensure renewals for domains, SSL, and third-party services
  • Maintain and secure infrastructure after handoff

💳 Billing & Timing

  • Final month covers services and packaging
  • All invoices must be settled before delivery
  • Handoff completes within 14-21 business days of final payment. Larger accounts may require more time.
  • At client request, offboarding may begin during the last paid month

🔧 In rare cases, certain accounts with large or complex infrastructure may require transition work beyond what’s included in the final month of service. When this happens, the work is billed separately at an increased rate due to the urgency and technical nature of these tasks but always with a clear scope and prior client approval. In practice, 98% of the time everything fits within the last paid month.

Transition Support Extensions
For accounts that require hosting, DNS, or infrastructure continuity past their clearly defined service end date, Placement Labs provides short-term Transition Support at a rate of $250/day per account. Emergency or short-notice requests (within 48 hours of the cutoff date) may incur additional fees.

This extension provides limited support meant only to keep core infrastructure (hosting, DNS, MX, SMTP, and other essential services already in place) online during the handoff. It does not cover new development, general maintenance, or feature work. Payment for any extension must be received in advance. All responsibilities transfer fully to the client or their new vendor when the extension period ends.

We always work in good faith to provide transition assets well in advance of the service end date. Extensions are only necessary if the client or incoming vendor has not completed their part in time. This safeguard exists to protect workflows from delays outside of Placement Labs’ control.

💬 A Note on Transitions

We understand that transitions can feel messy. Expectations aren’t always met, and feelings can get hurt. Uncertainty can be unsettling. While this page outlines as much as possible, every client and project is different. If something important feels missing, we’ll work with you in good faith to make the process as smooth as possible. Our goal is to handle offboarding with kindness and professionalism, minimizing disruption to your business.

Thank you again for allowing us to be a part of your journey.

This is a living document. Every time we offboard an account, we learn something. Something we could have done better. Something we could have done to help the other vendor. Some way of communicating better. This document will change over time as we learn and grow as an organization.
